Two conditions determine the length of time the unit will

operate on a set of batteries:

1. The brightness setting on the display.

2. The temperature at which the unit operates.

NOTE

WHEN THE FLASHING LOW BATTERY

INDICATOR APPEARS, THE UNIT HAS

APPROXIMATELY 5 MINUTES OF BATTERY

LIFE BEFORE AUTOMATIC SHUTDOWN.

3.6 Thermal Calibration:

The UTAM Series features shutterless core technology and the

lens cover unit must be closed when calibrating the system.

Calibration gives the user the clearest picture possible. To

calibrate the system perform the following procedure.

1. Fully close the lens cover.

2. Simultaneously press the front and center buttons.

The UTAM Series will automatically perform an initial

calibration at power up. For this reason it is necessary to keep

the lens cover closed for a minimum of 2 seconds at power up.
